Target: 99% of premises by Dec 2032. Starting from 81% in Apr 2024, before the deadline was moved from 2030 to 2032, the straight path needed 84.6% by now.

What it means: premises where a broadband connection of at least 1,000 Mbit/s is available, through full fibre, upgraded cable or similar. Being able to get it is not the same as using it: many households stay on slower, cheaper packages. The figures are Ofcom’s, as quoted in the government’s Project Gigabit updates, so there are only a few points so far.
