What it means: women’s share of people working in the most senior group of jobs in the official occupation classification, from directors and senior public officials to managers of businesses and services. Women make up about 48% of everyone in work. The fainter line is the much smaller group of chief executives and senior officials, where the survey sample is small and the figure moves around from year to year. Figures start in 2021, when the occupation classification changed. A change of one point or more counts.
